As July comes to an end it has also brought the hottest weather of the summer. Of course the snow is melting pretty fast but don’t get the notion that it’s still not amazing up here. There is plenty of snow up on the Palmer Snow Field and both High Cascade and Windells have been maintaining and making new features every session still. This session at High Cascade has also brought some of the best photographers in the biz to give campers all the pointers to see what it takes to take photos like some of snowboarding’s best.
- It might look like things are getting pretty thin up there, but there is still plenty of snow on the snowfield

The Bonfire Pipe 2 Pipe contest had the third a final event of the summer. However with the rail jam going on the same day as Snowboarder Magazine’s America’s Next Top Pro Model event and I can’t be in two places at once. So after a long day on the hill the RV was packed up with a bunch of people to cruise down to the skate section of the Pipe 2 Pipe at Windells one more time.
- Sawyer Deen not scared to blast frontside airs on the quarterpipe in the fun track

Next Top Pro Model Presented By Snowboarder Magazine
Words, Photos and Video: Joe Carter
For the first time ever Snowboarder Magazine brings to you America’s Next Top Pro Model. Bringing out a long list of the worlds most elite riders for some fun up at Timberline. On the first day to get things kicked off there was a high ollie contest that after you cleared the bar had a loading dock style landing. Lauri took that one. Then to change things up a little everyone walked up to the 100 foot rail. There were a few makes to the end, and it was Derek Dennison that got there the cleanest. When day two came around the first event was the spin to win part of the contest. Where Pat Moore did some really fast carcass chucking and took that event down with a 1080 on a jump you would not think is big enough for 3 spins. Then a little beak for lunch, followed up by Highest Air in the pipe. Where Lauri again took, but there were plenty of lofty airs by everyone else too. As everything was coming to a close Pat Bridges still had one more event for the riders. A Chinese downhill race from the top if the Windell’s Lane and ending at the bottom. Where Lauri again came through first. For the awards everyone headed down the road to Windells for some free dinner and the skate contest since Bonfire’s Pipe 2 Pipe contest was also going on the same day. Thanks to Pat Bridges, the rest of the Snowboarder Mag staff, Windells, Timberline, riders, and everyone else that put this on for another really fun event up here and a solid party that night in Govy.

Once again for the second time this summer Bonfire’s Pipe 2 Pipe rail jam and skate contest went down last week at Windells Snowboard Camp. Unlike the first time they hosted the Pipe 2 Pipe about a month ago. Both High Cascade and Windells were both in session bringing out a larger turnout, along with a bigger bag of tricks. Then of course comes the skate contest later that night. With skaters from all over Portland. So they get the chance to not only skate the private skate paradise known as “Windells,” but also get a chance to get some loot.

After a long week of perfect Mt. Hood weather session 2 of High Cascade and session 3 at Windells have both finished up. So far this one was the most solid time here yet. 2009 Bonfire Pipe 2 Pipe Skateboarding At Windells
2009 Pipe 2 Pipe Words: Joe Carter Photos: Joe Carter
Bonfire has once again brought back the Pipe 2 Pipe contest back to Mt. Hood and Windells. Tim Windell for three days out of the summer opens the gates to the public after an all day rail jam event on-hill. Then for an evening of free dinner for everybody, followed up by an insane jam format skate contest, where the skaters seem to come out of the woodwork to haul ass around the newly renovated BOB indoor park at Windells. Along with all the other new concrete features that have been placed around the whole camp, making it skateboarding paradise. We had just got there in the RV a little after 5:00 and there were people everywhere skating the new concrete and when the pro division went down all the skaters there threw down. There will be plenty more coming from Mt. Hood all summer long with the Snowrev RV posted up in Govy giving you the inside scoop.
- Sawyer Dean after riding all day and winning best trick was not done yet. Killing it skating for the second part of the contest.

- No shortage on the attendance. This was the scene around the whole park.
- Scotty Hoffman taking the first place trophy.
- If Sawyer was of age I bet he would make a stripper one happy person tonight.
- Girls top 3
- Robin Stoddard came out with his buddy from Maine having no clue this contest was going on. He slayed it the whole time againt some heavy competition landing him 500 bucks.
Summertime at Mt. Hood has officially started with Windell’s camp already in it’s first session. After a long drive from California in the RV we made it to Oregon to post up all summer long. Giving you some eye candy and showing you all what will be going on up here for the next few months. On the way up to Govy the RV made a stop over to Windells to check out all the new skate stuff and give you a small taste of how amazing this place is.
