Todd Richards Skateboarding - Everybody knows that Todd Richards is one of the greatest snowboarders ever but many people don’t know that he is great at skateboarding too. Here we have two exclusive short videos of Todd Richards at Omatic Snowboards headquarters in Encinitas working hard. These East coast skateboard kids I get to roll with are dead serious about skateboarding. They come from a little town with a couple bank ramps, brick roads, tons of rain, no real skate spots and where skateboarding is not the popular thing to do. This is skateboarding in small east coast cities and towns.

There is a select few skateboarders that will continue to participate no matter the situation or weather but not too many. A majority of these kids hail from the East Coast. The skateboard crew I took to Philadelphia for the Philly Am are a few of these kids. They are the kids that work in the back room of a Snowboard Shop called Suburban Blend and make Snowboard Revolution die cuts for you to tag throughout the world.

This group works hard, snowboards hard but skate super hard.

Skateboarding in Philadelphia is all its cracked up to be. There are thousands of skate spots, multiple concrete skate parks and a handful of indoor skate parks. It is home to Skateboard mecca Love Park (which today is illegal to skate at) and the infamous FDR skate park. Our first skate day in Philadelphia started at Woodward skate park in the Franklin Mills Mall for the Philly Am. This was about a twelve hour skate session and upon the last heat of the contest we rushed to FDR immediately for a sunset session that lasted late in to the night. We pulled our car into the skatepark and lit up sections of the park by light of the car. After the session at FDR we rushed straight to downtown Philly and made a quick stop at Love park. While there Muska attempted a twelve stair, in the light rain. This day was about a sixteen hour skateboard day and these kids didn’t hesitate, complain or take a simple rest.

The next day they woke up and were right back at it. We stayed directly across the street from Philadelphia’s city hall and the guys were up early to skate once again. Billy Cooley ended up getting a $300.00 ticket for skating Love park. He said the cops were brutally rude. After that we all went back to FDR for a day time session just before leaving town.

Check out the following photos from the trip..
