Knightrider Snowmobile Racks

KNIGHT RIDER RACKS

Got a snowmobile?  Do you snowboard?  Do you enjoy carrying all your gear on your back?  I didn’t, especially when I noticed how I started walking like the hunchback of Notre Dame after a day in the backcountry.
I tried making my own board rack for my sled before heading up to Canada.  It worked for about two weeks until it could take no more abuse.  It looked solid, but one must understand the abuse a sled can give to aftermarket foreign objects built onto it.  Unless you are an engineer or just extremely crafty, it is not going to work, even the Ski-Doo manufactured racks aren’t wolverine proof.
Knight Rider Racks are the most solid, well designed snowmobile/snowboard racks out there right now.  They are designed and manufactured in Golden, BC by Brian Lavoy who actually snowmoboards 100+ days a year. They are specifically designed for Ski-Doo’s Summit series, but can be fitted pretty much to all sleds.  The installation is about an hour (you want to take your time, you’re drilling holes into your sled).  Any non-wrench head (myself) can throw one on without too much difficulty.
Once I put these racks on, I was able to hold so much more gear on my machine, especially when there is a board on each rack(see pics), and my hunchback soon went away.  These things are very strong, I was riding pow-turns the same as I would without boards, and the racks and boards both have been fine.  I even put a bunch of Pine Martin meat on my board while mounted on the rack and let a pack of rabid Wolverines go after it, the racks and board were fine!  They are also great for doubling your riding buddies out to spots (riding with two guys on a sled is not too rad, try it with a backpack on each rider)!
To get more info on Knight Rider Racks or if you want to buy one check out www.knightriderracks.com, or call Brian at 250-340-0060, and he’ll definitely take care of you.  Make sure you know the make and model/year of your machine, the racks design vary by make/model/year.
