Hello everyone! Well the winter is right around the corner once more, I don’t know about you but I’m getting excited. This can be a very overwhelming time if you are in the market for new gear. With so many companies and products to choose from where do you start? One of the perks of being a “sponsed” rider is that we get to check out the new stuff long before the public sees it, so let me tell you a little about the Mentor binding and the Five boot you will see from Northwave and Drake this coming season. One thing you can expect from Northwave/Drake is comfort. The Fives are so comfy, usually there is a break in period of a few days where your feet hate you. The Fives felt great right outa the box. They have a great flex and feel to them, and can count on em whether your in the park or on a steep face. They get the job done in all aspects. I’ve been riding this boot all summer and I don’t want to ride anything else. Oh ya, they come in all white! If your like me than you like to get your binding straps tight around your boots. This is just one of the many things I love about drakes, you can really crank em down. I’ve ridden some bindings that don’t allow this, if you try to get em tight the teeth will strip out. The mentors are light and very comfy and new this year is a ratchet that allows you to adjust your ankle straps without a tool and very simply. Just pop the ratchet and slide the strap to the desired location. Well I hope this gives you guys some insight and helps make your decision a bit easier. If you have any questions about anything you can get a hold of me via my web sight, brettbutcher.com hope everyone has a fabulous winter! brett
