Part of the Revolution Crew stopped over at Omatic Snowboards headquarters in downtown Encinitas, located about 20 miles North of San Diego, CA. Here in this picture you can see Jason Kanes with one of his former creations, the Forum Snowboards BJ Leines from The glory days of Forum Snowboards. If you didn’t know, Jason Kanes was the main guy that built and created boards for Peter Line, Devun Walsh, BJ Leines, Jeremy Jones, Joni Malmi and the rest of the Forum team. These days Jason kanes is running omaticsnowboards.com with Todd Richards and Tara Dakides – Long Life to Omatic!

Anne Flore Marxer in Geneva I visited the new Pulp 68 shop in Geneva, Switzerland and it’s so sick! If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a store that combines skateboarding and snowboarding.
It’s much more than just a shop; it’s a family, a place to hang out. It’s got a lounge area with old school McDonald tables to hang out and have a couple of drinks. It’s decorated with store owner Jim’s favorite skateboards, videogames, and old school sticker collections.
This is the shop section with the cool stuff for sale. Like those mini Nikes! You’ll find all kind of mysterious things to contemplate and buy at Pulp 68. And that’s Jim on the Photo. He is a good friend of mine. Say hi for me if you see him! He is cool!
Pulp 68 is much more than just a shop, it’s a family, a place to hang out, go check pulp68.com for more about the team, funny stuff, news, events and location of the shop! See you there. HERE is a link to the Measure R Web Site - this is a local initiative for Mammoth Lakes residents - we need to register a whole lot of voters and make sure they all vote for Measure R on June 3. Send this link out to everybody who you think might be interested!

Crew Chronicles: Mammoth Main Park UpdatePosted by: snowrev in 2008 Crew Chronicles, The CrewWords: Joe Carter Spring time in Mammoth’s main park is in full swing right now. With many of the resorts around the country closed for the season, as always Mammoth is still going strong. There are still two halfpipes, plenty of jumps, and fun rails in the Unbound park. Right next to main is the Forest Trail park with some smaller jumps and fun mini jibs.
- This was shot around 3:30. Lonnie was the only snowboarder still hitting the jump. Lonnie probably spinned every single rotation every way from 10am to 330. He is the man.
Stay tuned for more Mammoth updates and the Revolution After Hours session that went down on this jump that night. After dusting off the haze that accompanied the previous weeks Grenade Games, our crew got to session a pretty sweet park jump. Danny had been talking about this “eyeball” jump for months. I was having a hard time picturing it but upon arrival all questions had been answered. The thing was insane. Pete Colombo, park builder extordinaire from Mammoth, had taken Danny’s design and layed it out in snow the way few others could. Grenade cinematographers, Greg Wheelz and Jake Redness, decided to get all Picasso on us and painted the thing exactly like “The Boned Age” logo. The Session was good as Louie Vito, Danny Kass, Scotty Arnold, Tyler Flanagan, Sketchy D, Clint Alan, Chris Grenier, Cornell Agee and me shared some good times flying through the darkness onto what fealt like the infield of Dodger stadium. Shit was bright! Look for the footage in Grenade’s new video this September, “The Boned Age”. Gabe T Click HERE to check out The Boned Age Teaser! Snowracing Bc is a Blast……for sure is a very cool competition. Check here some of the pics our friend Tim Nelson, Omatic Snowboards and Celtek Riders sent to us. Hope you like, hope next year we can make a cool video with all this great riders and people.
Erick Leines and Bjorn Leines created Celtek with the idea of meshing the life we live into the products that we use daily and they succeeded, their products are great! The Leines brothers spent last month in Canada promoting Celtek. While Bjorn was filming Erick was representing Celtek at Easyrider Cup at Jasper Ski Resort. That day was a blast, Tim Nelson, Omatic Snowboards and Celtek riders were there and send us these pics: These East coast skateboard kids I get to roll with are dead serious about skateboarding. They come from a little town with a couple bank ramps, brick roads, tons of rain, no real skate spots and where skateboarding is not the popular thing to do. This is skateboarding in small east coast cities and towns. There is a select few skateboarders that will continue to participate no matter the situation or weather but not too many. A majority of these kids hail from the East Coast. The skateboard crew I took to Philadelphia for the Philly Am are a few of these kids. They are the kids that work in the back room of a Snowboard Shop called Suburban Blend and make Snowboard Revolution die cuts for you to tag throughout the world. This group works hard, snowboards hard but skate super hard. Skateboarding in Philadelphia is all its cracked up to be. There are thousands of skate spots, multiple concrete skate parks and a handful of indoor skate parks. It is home to Skateboard mecca Love Park (which today is illegal to skate at) and the infamous FDR skate park. Our first skate day in Philadelphia started at Woodward skate park in the Franklin Mills Mall for the Philly Am. This was about a twelve hour skate session and upon the last heat of the contest we rushed to FDR immediately for a sunset session that lasted late in to the night. We pulled our car into the skatepark and lit up sections of the park by light of the car. After the session at FDR we rushed straight to downtown Philly and made a quick stop at Love park. While there Muska attempted a twelve stair, in the light rain. This day was about a sixteen hour skateboard day and these kids didn’t hesitate, complain or take a simple rest. The next day they woke up and were right back at it. We stayed directly across the street from Philadelphia’s city hall and the guys were up early to skate once again. Billy Cooley ended up getting a $300.00 ticket for skating Love park. He said the cops were brutally rude. After that we all went back to FDR for a day time session just before leaving town. Check out the following photos from the trip..
-PHILLY AM FULL REPORT HERE
So we are here in Philadelphia to skate in and shoot the Philly Am. We just rolled into Philly and its 3:24 AM. The event starts at 9 AM. Hope we make it. For all of you that don’t know Love park has become a mecca of skateboarding and one of Philadelphia’s most cherished spaces. |
